What a shame it is that I have never heard of any of the magazines that were listed in the topic paragraph. :\
I feel like alot of the magazines that I do see, have all of the smallest possible plus-size models in them. The size 12's are who I'm speaking of.
PLEASE, if you are size 12 or 14..DO NOT TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY! I am not saying that you aren't plus-size or that you're not beautiful just the way you are, etc.I am simply saying that as a 22/24 size woman, I would love to see other women that look more like me, as well.
That's why as a child, because I have always been heavy, I really hated looking at certain catalogs which clothes are designed for the PLUS SIZE woman, yet ... All the models in them were probably like a 6. So, basically, I was traumatized as a kid, lol! (Just kiddin').
I would love to see a lot of diversity, ethnicities, styles of clothing, hair tricks and tips, cute bags and purses, trendy, but affordable clothing, shoes, accessories, etc., technology gadgets(such as the cool new "Zune" that is out now), editorials with sucess story's, alot of plus-size CELEBRITIES(there are more now, than we realize. Trya Banks and Nikki Taylor would technically be plus-size models, now, if they went back into the business. They even said it themselves.Lol), things having to do with music, outdoors and garden things, cool excersize equipment and things to do to stay in shape(just because we are "big girls" don't mean we don't want to stay healthy, lol), also cool things to do during the holidays, yummy food to make/bake, ETC.
I think that plus-size women(and men) are becoming way more known, now, which is excellent, and that we are beginning to see quite a change in the way society is thinking. I have run the idea by several people of being a plus-size model, and in the past have gotten rather negative responses. Nowadays, however, people, (especially other plus-size people) are extremely supportive of the idea.
I think in any magazine, you have to have support from your readers. Without publicity for the love of the magazine, of course it's gonna go straight down the drain.
Which brings me back to the first thing that I said, which is this :
"What a shame it is that I have never heard of any of the magazines that were listed in the topic paragraph. :\"
If you want a magazine to be sucessful, then you have to get people involved and interested. PUT the magazine OUT there, so that people know about it and WANT to see what it is all about.
There is SO, SO much more that I could comment on about this topic, but for the most part, this is pretty much the jist of what I'm trying to say. So, thank you for reading my comment!

God Bless and good luck to current AND future plus-size magazines. God knows, we need all the support we can get!

Much xOxO,
~Krystle~
