Okay, here's my two cents..... I will never never never understand why Mode went belly up. I loved Mode. It was like the holy grail to me. As a woman who loves and embraces my curves, this is something that it's rather difficult for me to say...but... Honestly, I think it's an issue of many overweight women not having great self-esteem, and wanting to run away from images, no matter how vibrant and beautiful these images are, of women that remind them of themselves. I think that many plus women just want to be the same as everybody else and don't want to feel singled out in buying magazines like Mode, Figure, etc. Which is a bummer, because I think that these magazines are incredibly empowering and have helped me to further embrace my curves and realize that I'm just as sexy as those girls in Vogue and Elle...actually even sexier because I am healthy and have great self-esteem. It's really a Catch-22, isn't it? *Sigh* I miss Mode.
