I do think it is great more designs are coming up for plus sized chicks, however I too am shocked at the prices and the styles! Liek it is not bad enough to pay more I have to accept nana styles to... urgh!

Being curvy doesn't mean we are all the same! I still have an hour glass figure, and wants to show off that! I noticed that most of us curvy chicks have belly problems and well as love handles.. so I do not understand designers choosing fabcrics that clings to us!!! What's with that?

I can design a few tops that would make girls my shape look good yet hide most of the bumps... but I do not have the know how to turn it into reality, so I hope the people in the game will do something about it!

I want a shapely top with a flare from under my bust , quite like what they do for maternity tops, so no one can see how big my belly is!

Boxy styles are NOT for everyone...
I want to look feminine, touchable, sexy, stunning, beautiful and funky because that is what I believe myself to be! Give me the clothes to look the part!
I want beautiful Summer dresses too! Enough already with the glitzy tops!!!

Another thing is accessories that fits us curvy chicks. I want slightly longer necklaces but not the LONG style.... Just long enough so as not to make my short neck look shorter!

Ah I can go on and on... :P I am quite stylish and girls like my look here in Auckland , New Zealand... but I could sure make do with some help as I am tired of dark coloured items and classic cuts... I want more feminine colour and flowers but in a youthful style! does anyone understand what I want? I want Trelise Cooper styling... at 1/3 of the price!!! :P

One thing that gets me annoyed while shopping for plus sizes is this..........grouping Plus sizes with Maternity sizes!! Why is that??!?!?! Anyone else feel this way?

My biggest headache with the way clothing is made for plus size is close to what you said de_artist. My frustration is, I notice that designers that don't have a passion for making for all, but are in it for money and to try to seem accepting is that they take what they make for Think women that usually don't have to worry about curves, larger frames or whatever and make the same thing for Larger Women. That's not customizing the the Pear Shape, Fuller Hour Glass Figure or Unporportionate Fames for short and tall Plus Size Women. They are still using ONE cookie cutter concept.

They either make us blend in, or cover us completely up. They don't think of the inbetweens. Just because we are big girls, doesn't mean we can't express our elegant and sexy sides through clothings. We can't when the right disigners come along. I have to admit lines like Angel and Zana Di are good examples of designers that pay attention, not closely because they only cater to one type of style, but they get the idea.

Just a message along with my vote. I like the fact that there is a much larger, no pun intended, selection that when i was a teen. Even though I'm a working career women doesn't mean that I can afford the outragious prices that specialty boutiques need to charge in order to stay open. The designers have definitely discovered that they have us over a barrel. I hope that more of them will look at setting reasonable price points. In the end I'll spend as much on several pieces as I would have a single one I had to rationalize the purchase of. My other comment is that I'm disportionate in that I carry all my weight in the belly so many things don't work with regard to the hip area. Does anyone have a line that bestter suits this issue? Thanks

I have been a curvaceous senorita my whole life. When I turned 18 I came to grips with the fact that I was a curvy Latina and that clothes are impossible to find. I have such a hard time shopping that I truly have become a jeans and t-shirt girl and even go around in sweatpants all year round at my University. I am a pear shape so I can wear smaller than a 1X on top but I need a 14 bottom. I feel like my size is very hard to find and that when I finally find something that I like, I can't afford it. I hate shopping in Department stores because I feel like the clothes are geared toward older women who became plus sizes later in life. I'm only 19 and would love to dress like any other hip 19 year old would want to. I agree that places like Torrid do help but in my mall that is the only plus sized store aimed at a younger population, and it's style is one dimensional. I am not goth or really into the pretty goth style as I shall put it. I want to see a plus size store that sells clothes in styles that regular sized girls are wearing but that can fit the curvier generation. I don't want to feel like I have to have a more sophisticated and serious look just because I am a plus size. I can only wish that one day JLo will have her own plus line of the great clothes she puts out or maybe even American Eagle will get into the trend and have plus sizes. I can only hope that one day there will be a store aimed at younger girls that will serve as a one stop shopping adventure, and that one day I will feel excited to go to the mall and shop at my favorite plus sized, affordable, clothing store.
