Rylbeauty,
I haven't seen those jeans since 3 months after they debuted at the Avenue - I think the Seven denim line beat it out in sales & consumer acceptance.
Looking at things from a marketing spin, I wasn't impressed with the way the line was launched. I'm not one to pay much attention to celebrity stuff, but when I saw the press release about the jeans, I expected to see a couple of commercials, maybe hear a couple of radio ads, even some magazine ads.. I don't recall seeing any.
Let's be realistic - how often are we plus-size divas truly impressed by clothing being modeled on a size 0,2,4,6..whatever size less than a size 14? Let us remember the frustrations of shopping pre-Avenue (even before that - anyone remember Avenue's precursors - 14-16 plus? How about Sizes Unlimited? LOL). It was a pain to scour through catalogues of tall, slim models trying to model clothing for shorter, voluptuous curves... <rant off>
Anyways.. I tried the JS jeans on - they just weren't flattering for my shape; I ended up getting some Avenue boot cuts and calling it a day..

yes I think you're right Tawny, probably if Monique or Queen Latifah did it, it would be more suitable. Though keep in mind, she has alot of pressure for weight not just by herself sadly, her managers, agents etc. And she did start her image as a thin girl. However, that all aside she now has the power to change things because she has gotten so popular! I can't say that I'd be buying the clothes though ; ( in fact I haven't even bought her shoes, it just seems kinda cheesy.
